This is a clever poem with a cute story and a life lesson as well. The rhymes work, and it's fun for all ages. One suggestion: it veers between present and past tense. I would put it all in present tense, which is where it starts and I think works best. Nicely done, a treat to read.

I had forgotten his little "cooking hat" until SweetLinda asked me about it. Eeeek! I had to go back and put it in. Someday, I may manage to paint it on his head. LOL

I love this Wally chapter where he tries, tries again. Even with egg leg
and molasses fur he carries on and even cleans up too. Wow, what
a great teaching poem and so much fun to read as well.

You are so talented at keeping the great flow and rhyme going throughout

I can relate - I can't cook worth a damn either LOL. Great rhyme, meter and flow in this one. The lesson at the end is just superb. You really do need to publish a Wally book. I will definitely buy one
