Okay, I've read this one now, and yes, it is a really good one, you really are good at these and it's still better than any other one I've read ... Bar one! The one you didn't enter!! Still think you have written the winning one, so, GOOD LUCK!! xxxx

"An Inseparable One" is the one I wish I would've entered.
I'm so happy you liked this one though. These things are ridiculous. I'm not sure the site is looking for something like this. I think they like more conventional things. But, I'm happy with the Sandra Mitchell award. You've got better taste!! mikey

Of course, I totally agree with you! LOL. You will win, Mikey. I've already placed my bet. :))

I love the way the words are written out with so much artist expression. The colors and changes in font add credence to the words that are written. Great job with this powerful message.

I like the slanted way you distributed to your lines. It gave them a uniqueness and overall flow to the story that you were creating. The decision of the blue shade (not to mention the blue flower) added depth that ordinary poems lack. Good job.

Thank you so much. This is a difficult form, the palindrome. I you'll take a close look you'll see that the poem reads the same forwards and backwards. Thanks so much, mikey

Wow! You did a miracle with the formatting, Mikey - not to mention the amazing wording! I didn't realize this was a palindrome until the very end!
Beautiful! Well done!

You have done a fabulous job with your palindrome, Mav. It reads beautifully both ways and I suppose that we have learned something from this exercise that is how words interplay with one another.

Your entire presentation is a work of art and the profound truth in the words is incredible. It does feel like falling into an abyss when love's embers embrace oblivion.

Beautiful job and best wishes to you in the contest.

Ange.

I always wonder, Angel, if meaning gets through when I write. It's so satisfying to hear you describe my thoughts and words with such clarity, maybe more than I possess myself. This was such as task compared to knocking off a ten minute sonnet. LOL! I truly did labor over each little space and font size trying to guide the eye exactly the way I wanted it guided.
My very favorite poet likes it and approves. I need know nothing else. Love,

    Maverick

Mikey!!!

This is a beauty! I know what time and energy it takes to write a palindrome, and this was no easy feat. The blood and sweat you put into this one gets you a six, hands down! :) Wishing you all the best in the contest!

(Your last image didn't attach, might want to have a look)

Fantastic work!

    Hi, Kim
Wow. What high praise and you are so correct. Gee WHIZ. This was no ten minute sonnet that's for sure. I'm so honored you liked this and understand how much I put everything into it. That makes me feel like a million bucks. Well, a million and SIX!!! Photobucket crashed. Everyone's downloads are off line. HAVOC! Poor RSpoet's piece on the first page, first slot says "OOPS". Poor thing. Jeesh. Thanks so much, mikey

Yes, I love the falling format you've used, I think it does add to the drama of the words. In the first -love eternal love -
really stands out in your format. Great Palindrome, lovely words, and the format really does add to it. I guess it took some time working out how and where to place them. Well done mikey and good luck in the contest.

Very interesting notes, Mikey, and I absolutely agree with most of what you say regarding the aim of free verse.

However, I find all the fancy (and very clever) presentation to be distracting and it STOPS my flow of mind and ability to pause and ponder.

Anyway, I know I'm an 'in the minority freak'. ;-)

I'm certainly NOT trying to have a dig at you, as I respect you very much, but I also find the multi-use of ing-ending gerunds make for a 'passive' rather than 'active' read.

Of course, this is a contemplation based a lot on the past experiences of love, so it's hard to make it 'here and now' for extra imagery and drama.

Thought-provoking and very unusual write, and that's meant to be a compliment. :-)

Cheers, my friend. Ray.

This is the WORST form ever invented. LOL
Yeah, too many bells and whistles and I admit I'm fudging the issue a bit with them. I should have gone with longer lines, they're easier to reverse. But I thought I'd try this to see if I could do it. Well, it seems like I didn't totally fall off the cliff. You're right about the "ings" too. To be honest they read better reversed for some reason than the more active version. HAHAHA! Thwarted at every turn.
I delighted that it still managed to grab you and give you a good read. I think I'll go write a sonnet!!! Thanks so much, mikey

I apologise for missing this was a palindrome, Mikey. EXCEEDINGLY clever now the penny has dropped. It MUST be, as it was so un-forced I didn't notice ;-)
