If somehow all the stories and poetry written on this subject can help one child, then it would be al worth it.

There is so much to be said on this, we pray it helps someone.

Nicely done. John

Very well written! I love this poem. It is so poignant with just a few words you describe what victims of abuse feel like. I thank you for sharing.

Definitely not a happy face on the poor abused child, you. A well crafted Rictameter poem that paints this poetic portrait full of pain and pathos. Your title says it all. More hugs.

Hi, Shirley...

_ Such sad eyes, my friend, for a little girl.
_ You're right, until someone walks in your shoes, they truly don't know at all what you went through.
_ I'm so pleased you were able to rise above it all and come out on top.
- Nicely penned and presented, my friend.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jax (*:*)

Very well written. You do an excellent job with this poem. I love how you started and ended it with "childhood" and the word meant such a different thing from when you started the poem. Very creative.

If that is your picture I just want to hold you and comfort you and protect you from what has made you so unhappy. An adorable child in need of help. I'm sorry you had such a terrible childhood Shirley. Life can be cruel. It should never be cruel to children. Hugs. Nancy

Shirley;
-in a very delicate and gentle way you have written most generally the things that a child goes through and that are most horrendous yet stated in a most emblematic and annotated way.
-Child abuse is most prevalent in a household ill structured, low self-esteem and
generally not well educated. Other factors are involved that can be drugs and alcohol
and the abuse of a spouse. Without going into detail you have rendered the general aspects of child abuse an the outcome of its abuse.
-Used good enjambment.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you forever.
Alex

This is yet another revealing poem that the author has created with this piece of work. This is a sad story, and one that is sadly all to prevalent in this world.
