Your poem is full of emotion and a struggle to deal with it. I like the idea of the river taking the teardrops to the sea or island far away. Good job with the rhyme. The picture is so fitting. No changes needed. Good job and good luck in the contest.

Oh my, this is a lovely poem, mystery poet!
Your fine use of imagery through your well chosen words evokes a strong feeling of loneliness and heartbreak. Your alliteration throughout adds to the great flow of your poem.
This is a strong entry for the contest. Best of luck! alana

Now this is what I call an original angle!
I love how you personify the river, asking it to carry away your sorrowful tears. Very nicely written. Hugs, Lou

Great emotional poem from the first line throughout. I especially liked this:
I'll gladly trade these teardrops and all my tomorrows, too,
For just one hour of yesterday and the happiness I knew,

Thank you so much for your warm review and for the 6 gold stars! The poem was based on my father's sorrow after he left my mother and our family on a wild whim and then spent the rest of his life lamenting the loss he caused.

A beautiful poem with a well chosen image. I liked the idea that time does heal and the way you said this would happen as you travel down memory lane was very well written. There were so many things I lived about it (I hope you don't mind if I add to my book case). I liked the teardrops falling into the river and lines 5 and 6 are very touching. Well done and good luck in the contest.

I truely felt you wanted to forget about your broken heart even if only for a minute but at the same time go back if you could. Very beautifully done.

Thank you for the insightful review. Deep emotions are aptly expressed in poetry!
Comment from RYME4U
The sadness in this poem is well expressed. The rhymes are well done and the rhythm flows smoothly as the sea inj your poem. This is well done!
