CONGRATULATIONS!! Perfect, Val. I was reading in your profile a couple days ago regarding haiku being a lost art here on FS. So true. That was one of the main reasons I joined FS... to write the short poems, because they fit perfectly into my schedule. I think you're one of the very few here who seems to stick to your guns regarding proper form. Beautifully done on this one, my friend, and again, CONGRATS!! :)shawn

Shawn, I'm so touched by your words, that tears came to my eyes. Funny thing is I struggled as to weather to enter this contest or not, just like your "Chinook Winds" contest but felt I had too. Funny how that happens these days. I so miss Alvin being the "haiku police" None the less, I digress, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just a thought, give a look at some American haiku poets, I'm opening to their thoughts. Hugs Val

We grin too, because we know that Thanksgiving here in the US is just around the corner, which means lots of delicious pumpkin pie. So, while the pumpkin may be grinning, it is we who have the final laugh, LOL...
