Congratulations on 1ST place.
Yours was the absolute best.
Well deserving of first.
So unique.
So right on.
I loved the way it trails off.
So cool.
I enter those blind contests...so discouraging...most times
And I still enter them...glutton for punishment?
Lucky if I get 1 vote...No kidding. :)
Have a peaceful day, my friend.

Thanks for the awesome rating and review, Razz. I enter lots of contests, and there have been many when I haven't received a single vote. We just gotta keep on trying, I suppose.
I sincerely appreciate your stellar review and kind comments. :}

Great us of the medium here, Dean. The black and white starkness of image and page; the falling line of 'plummets'; and the italicised text, all give the graveyard theme an eerie mood. The wit of the falling line completing a simple alliterative closer in 'production plummets' also adds greatly to a Dean Kuch special that sets a murky scene in which we all fall for the joke. A worthy winner, I suspect, and one much appreciated too.

Hello there Dean
Oh boy, you certainly pulled all the punches out here.
Very funny :)
You managed to put in my mind a terrible mishap, with bundles of laughter attached.
A deserved winner indeed.
kind regards

Thanks so much, trimple. I knew the competition was going to be stiff, so I had to try and do something a bit different to stand out. I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it, and thanks so much for the review. :)

Definitely smiled at that busy gravedigger's plight. Cleverly written and presented 'Just for Fun' poem. Production plummeted as he plummeted into the grave. Of course, we plummeted into the grave with him. I imagine he bumped his head and had nightmares trying to get out of the grave. He might have had hallucinations and delusional thoughts that resulted in a career change - perhaps, he's now the undertaker's new assistant.
Excellent contest entry. Well done ... ;o)

Thank you, Ray. I tried to have a little fun with the formatting without going too over-the-top. I really appreciate those encouraging comments of yours.

I adore the formatting and presentation of this poem
As a huge fan of gallows humor, I was most entertained by your clever work in excellent 5/7/5 form
love the alliteration in production plummets, and I'm still laughing at that literal plummeting
and what a great visual of that poor guy falling into the grave he was digging - that could put a halt to his productivity LOL :-) Brooke

I wouldn't be surprised if this hasn't happened a time or two. I love the way you structure of dropping the last word to demonstrate its meaning.

Thanks so much, seaglass. Just trying my best to think a little outside the box, without going too overboard, and still be creative. It's nice to give readers the most bang for the buck, I feel.
Thanks again for such a positive review.
