An excellent haiku with alliteration of S, and a spooky graveyard sensation that creeps up your spine and sets your hair on end. Good blend off picture and verse,

Thanks so much, Mr. 'T', and I'm really pleased that you liked it. i realize it is a bit different where haiku is concerned, and I am studying the craft of writing short, Japanese styled poetry very diligently to improve.
Thanks so much again, my friend.

In few words, you create a supernatural feel to your words and a clear image of the moon is created. The reader feels like she is in the graveyard with the moon up in the sky.

A spooky, dark haiku-ish style poem done in 5-7-5 format. Beautifully illustrated and presented. A satisfying read and I like the creepy, other worldly flavor of this poem...

Hi Dean Kuch,
Good word pictures painted in your Haiku, there is nothing more desolate I think than an unkempt graveyard in the moonlight.

Thank you, Patrick. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me on this poem.
I have one I frequently visit near my home, just to sit and think for a while. It's so quiet and peaceful there, with graves in excess of two-hundred years old. But, it is rather sad to see the frequent vandalism, grave defilement and such that goes on there too.
Thanks again.

Congratulations on a great win. Love this haiku about the moon and the graveyard.
Using the "s" sounds made it mystical and mysterious.
Well done.

No wonder this was a winner, the poem flows so well, which to me is unusual in a short poem, I think the line 'Twixt crumbling ancient headstones' is brilliant.

Yeah, pretty sneaky, huh, Steve?
In reality, I meant it to convey a peacefulness and serenity, but I must admit, it is a bit on the spooky side. I just find old, ancient boneyards a nice, quiet place to sit and reflect, at times.
Thanks for taking the time to read and review it, Steve. I really appreciate it.
