Hi Mary,
you said a hell of a lot in two lines that only contained twelve syllables and that's why you are the deserved winner of this contest... if only all friends and partners would be that person?
Truly wonderful construction in such a limited format... congratulations to the contest queen.

Congratulations on winning the other half. I won the other (Amazing Thought). Would have been nice to win it all, but you just had to write such a good one too. I'm being sarcastic of course. To be nit-picky (I can't help it, LOL) maybe 2nd line:
'and dry up all my tears', though that's not necessarily an improvement, as your words are extremely nice as they are.

I am lucky enough to have a true friend like you have described here in essence poem,, and I think you are spot on....this is the essence of our friendship in a nutshell. It encompasses with the first line the deepness of the relationship and and then the commitment to always be there when the other needs you in the last line.
