Dear Steve,
Well, well, well! The old softy has emerged and who could blame him with a doll like that for a grand child. We have 5 grandsons (no grand daughters), all of whom are well old enough to marry and produce a great-grand- daughter, but the lazy (or maybe just careful) young cads have done nought yet. Anyway, your poem is a delight.

Thanks, Reg - she is five now and an absolute treasure.
Congratulations on your big in in the Faith contest - I have to say I was stunned - not by the quality which we can expect from you, but by the judges choosing a piece with this content. It even crossed my mind that maybe they didn't understand it!
Anyway - very well done.

This is really an adorable "bedtime" rhyme :-)
It has a pleasant, singsong rhythm, captivating characters and makes a perfect lullaby for young children (and we grown-ups may even find our selves "humming" it to ourselves now and then :-)
nice write :-)

Oh those granddaughters when they dress up like fairy princesses! This is one fine children's poem, so much like my own Genesee. I will show this one to her. She is seven, so she reads. She will love it. You should do a children's book if you haven't already. Excellent.

What a lyrical magical poem. The rhyme and rhythm just role off the tongue. I am sure the little princess was lulled to sleep and the road paved to a wonderful land of happy dreams.

I haven't actually tried this out for real yet - perhaps if my little fairy princess didn't live so far away!

Most of my grand kids live far away. Only one out of five is close. I kind of make them live vicariously through him, so I am at least aware of what interests them at certain ages.

Very cute children's poem about the woodland folk. This will certainly appeal to youngsters. Excellent rhyme and use of language. It flowed really well and was most enjoyable. Faye

Such a light and happy poem...what a lovely piece to read a child. Great rhythm and rhyme. The picture of your granddaughter is a wonderful compliment to the work.

Thanks, Jenny. Don't know what else she inherited from me, but it certainly wasn't her looks!

Thank you. Keilah must be doubly spoilt because she is first AND last (so far)
Thanks for the kind words.
