Thank you again, Amanda, this one was a bit of fun with Phyllis and her penguins, have you read it? They have now put out a new year song, I don't think my Hedgerow gang are up to that after Penny and Petey laughed at this one! LOL. Thanks again, my friend! :) xsx Sandra

Love the artwork you post to go with your poem. It captured my attention from the start. I like that the words were different it made me laugh yet, it still had that Christmas ring.
Thank you for sharing

OMG. . . Phyllis' penguins have gone rogue! LMAO
And are spreading their infectious tendency for parody to the mice!
Lock up your parrots, lizards, canines and cats -
or next thing we know, we humans will be second class writers!! LMAO
Very fun read :-)

Thank you so much, Leineco! I had promised Phyllis' penguins a holiday at Hedgerow, quite a while ago, and after she put their version of the 12 days of Christmas on here, I decided they should come for Christmas. LOL! So pleased you enjoyed it. I hope you have a brilliant 2014! xsx Sandra

Very cute, and very creative repurposing of the 12 Days of Christmas for the use in the whimsical mousy tale. Happy Belated Christmas!

Copying Phyllis and editing to make it shorter ¢??
This is the only line that seems off, almost like it was a note during your draft that you forgot to take out. At the very least it reads as a punctuation typo. Other than that I thought it was a solid children's write with great flow. Excellent work overall, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your lovely review, elchupakabra, I am so pleased you enjoyed reading it. I am sorry, I should have explained that line. If you go to, Phyllis Stewart's portfolio, you will understand. She wrote a Christmas poem with her penguins writing their own version of 'The Twelve days of Christmas' it is really funny and you will see why I put that line there. Her Penguin stories and my Hedgerow Capers stories do sometimes involve each other after my gang (of 6 hedgerow friends) went to visit the penguins in one of my stories. I am rambling on a bit, sorry again!! LOL, thank you for sticking with it!! Sandra xsx

Np, the explanation helped place the line, I will have to go check out those other works :) Happy holidays!

This one is above my head. The only thing the two agreed unpon was twelve days of Christmas. I guess you could say the two poets dipped into the eggnog.

LOL - I'm sure Phyllis got a chuckle out of this. I love her penguin characters which you expanded on. A fun read for the kiddies and grown ups as well. Hugs, Lou

This is a very enjoyable piece. I like the twist on the Christmas carol. The rhyming scheme is nice. The tone is appropriate to the subject matter.
