Happy Holidays to you! I am so grateful for your writing here. I totally agree. I don't buy my child nearly as many gifts as most of her friends or children of our friends get. I just can't, emotionally or financially. I want her to know I love her with love and not just gifts. At some point you grow up and the presents disappear. Sigh. Awesome write!

This is a fantastic story that the author has created with this piece of writing. It reminds me of my father's funeral. He was considered to be a man of limited means. His father was on Friday, but thousands of people took time off work to attend. The Minister said that it was the biggest funeral that he had ever attended. He was rich in the way that mattered as well. Well done with this poem. It struck a chord with me.
