I know it is not Celtic, but Braveheart is one of my favorite movies. The feel of battle you capture in this epic is simply stunning. Rhythm/ rhyme and word choices definitely bring us back to a time when warfare was a bit more noble, fighting a true defense of territory, the life or death of a people. Each line has an antique, epic feel which serves the piece well.

I'm so glad I decided to come back and catch up. I LOVE CELTIC WARRIORS. And most anything celtic. I've been to highland festivales. I play tin whistle. I've devoured celtic stories... the best by far being Stephen Lawhead's Song of Albion Trilogy. Heck, my story is called "Asthore" or treasure in Gaelic and a couple of my characters are named gaelic names and OMG I am so talking your ear off without even starting a decent review of your poem. HEEEEH, HEEEEEEH (Heavy breathing)
I loved this poem. I'm going to bookcase it so I can have it forever and ever. ;) This makes me want to go watch Braveheart or listen to the soundtrack. Thank you, thank you. :)

another most impressive poem, Dean - you are one talented man, my friend - the six is all I can give you, although it merits more.
I even enjoyed the music.

Well a six is certainly fine by me, Margaret, thank you! I appreciate your enthusiasm for this piece. It was probably the one I've had the most fun writing in a long, long time.
Thanks, again...

Yes, this was fun to read, there is a lively 'gait' to the whole poem, a lot of action in the spirit of the poem, the illustrations and the music added to the tone, I could 'hear' the voice, like sitting, listening to a warrior make this plea to me, unique, original, and entertaining.

The artwork and the music along with your words makes it an outstanding poem.
This poem would be a great for a movie, as teh movie would start, about warrior's and those epic times.
Great word choice, but this line it was my favourite:
To greet our varied destiny may mean our dying breath!
A great dark poem.

The presentation is so cool for your poem, Dean, and your poem is excellent. There is a Japanese form of embedding words into artwork called haiga and like your work, it makes the finished piece so much more interesting and unique. Love your rhymes and the topic is great.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Huh, thanks Karyn, I appreciate your most gracious remarks. Haiga, huh? Well, I will have to study up some on that poetic format, it sounds very intriguing! So much to learn, so little time, LOL...:)

This poem was brought to life with the music. I will definitely be checking out the charity sight later today. The music was wonderful. Beautiful poem, but I wouldn't expect anything less from someone so talented. Thanks for sharing.

I'm really enjoying these picture poems. This one shows a brave warrior calling his men to battle. The verse is a nice smooth read, rhymes well and has an even tempo.

I really like this poem. It's like a song the men might sing in a mead hall or something. I can definitely hear this being spoken during a movie or book to introduce the oncoming of a battle. Awesome!

This was a well written poem. The poem flowed well and did not sound forced. This poem has a consistent rhyming scheme, and the poetic devices are very good. This "Warrior's Call" would just about make anyone prepare too fight. Nicely written.
