This story poem certainly is a reminder that if one trains up a child right then they will not depart from the right way.

My mother was diligent woman of faith, not one of six ever in jail or drugs.

Beautifully written poem about your faith. God bless your mom for instilling faith in God no matter what storms we go thru it keeps us standing tall. It had a nice rhythm and flow. As the psalms say a thousand can fall on one side and ten thousand on your other side but you will not be harmed. My mother was devoted and she raised us to be so
She hoped that this would guide us wherever we may go
When we grew up into adults we chose our path in life
But we kept our faith within us to protect in times of strife
Our pathways were all different but none of them compared
To the deep abiding faith in God we have always shared.

This really is a remarkable tribute to your mother who was a woman of great faith and instilled those qualities in you. I understand some of what you've written about walking to church and tiring out, but had to keep on going. This is an endearing poem in every way. Great job!

I grew up catholic, went to catholic school and was an altarboy. My father wasn't of that religion, so when it was my week to serve mass, I had to walk. He I was at 5am walking 3 miles to church, so, I know what you went through. I enjoyed reading the fact that you and your siblings have held strong in your faith in God. I enjoyed your poem so much. A mother's strong faith passed down to her children can have a powerful influence on their life.
This brought back memories of walking with my mother to Mass at 6:00am
each morning. I loved those mornings and still start my day at Mass.
Your poem is composed beautifully with strong rhyme and meter and
