Susan, This was a great story. It kept my interest from beginning to the end. The dialog was amazing. You have a talent for slipping into another world. I just write non-fiction, because that's what I know. I could never write fiction. That takes a special talent. Nice job. Carole

Susan.
What an ass you wrote about. LOL. You are on a roll with these fiction stories. Your dialect is great. Your descriptive writing is very good. Your words paint the story action and scene. The old dutchman is a colorful character. I love this story. Please have a fabulous day, my friend. This story about ass is awesome. Old Dutchman want his ass back. I'm so funny. BTW, your art work is priceless.

Goiod story Susan. You do fiction so well. . They have decided to do a 'procedure' to try and fix my stomach without surgery. It will be on the 30th. It may work or they may have to do surgery anyway. All I know is that I want some solid food!!! Love ya, Hope you are feeling better!!! Debbie

HI Deb! Thank you again, I am worried about you, and Ine too. We three have some darker days ahead, but then HOPEFULLY, brighter ones. Thanks for this review, but more importantly, take good care okay? I have had no serious pain for almost 23 hours...i don't understand. I was suffering for 7 days prior...who knows. Love you too Deb! Hi Susan :)
Good piece, well done, well paced and yet a sad ending. That, of course, is where a lot of your work goes.
A bit much on the dialect for my taste, but your had to write your story your way.

I have been reading so much lately about cruelty to donkeys. I know that has nothing to do with your post, but I still am upset over it so have to share that.

Hi Barb! Well, I always think I have an original idea, lol, but I think literally every subject has been covered. So, hopefully my little burro was more interesting than the others? :) I do appreciate your time to read this and share a review...hug, Susan

'A Dollar For Dooley' is a well written story. Dobb's dialog sounds so real that it vividly portrays the old man. Dooley, too, has personality in his actions.
Very enjoyable tale.

You really did a wonderful job of building suspense. It is a mysterious setting and your foreshadowing alerts the reader to fact this isn't going to end well. It is the stuff that fuels legends.

Great writing. Very sad story throughout. That poor burro. I began to hate his owner from the very first line.
In some ways I am glad he suffered for his greed.
Look forward to reading more

Realist101:
A dollar in exchange for his soul
Now that ole miner was mighty bold
to think he could keep his gold
when the saints on him had a greater hold
Seems that Dooley was indeed a wise ass
who knew something was off in that morass
he knew the difference between sand and grass
and when his time had come to pass
thanks for sharing
love,
jan
