Well said Debbie. As I read your work and than glanced at your profile I see how the expression of this piece speaks to who you are. It seems that you have experienced an accident and now have a heart for the disabled. How wonderful when you can turn your lemons into that sweet tasting lemonade. It seems you have done just that.
Relections seem to come at various times and for various reasons...however it is true that the end of the year and the new beginnings that follow brings such thoughts of meditation to many. You have given food for thought and that can start a wonderful new beginning for every reader. Nice work.
Hugs

You're so correct. December is a month that we should all reflect on our lives and on our families. I think you wrote a very good essay and I hope many read it.

In reading this, you've made me feel so disorganized. I need to get around to this reflection business ASAP.
Seriously, you have given me pause to consider and I shall.
I love your beautiful metaphoric description:
-Much like a leafless tree in front of a painted pastel sunrise, our inner selves can be uncovered and assessed. And then I see the picture above, knowing that it will have new life in the Spring and you new plans!
Nicely done, Debbie.

I hope I haven't added more stress, but the last few years this has been effective for me. I think since I don't work, I need to have an idea of where I want to go with my life. Thanks so much for your kind comments and review. Luv ya, Debbie

Debbie, Your story is well written and has many poetic lines. Your questions about the past year and the one to come are very helpful. Your reflective approach is also very effective; it is good to find some quiet time to examine our lives. Thank you for sharing this. Blessings, Hector

This was absolutely beautiful, Debbie. It flowed so well with a poetic feel, about your contemplations for the new year. It shows your intuitive side with reflections on life - what needs to be changed, what direction to move toward, areas of growth...just beautiful my friend.
I especially loved this:
"My December reflections, much as the sun's reflection on the stillness of the pond, have brought a sense of joy and purpose to my life."
They made me think of my own need to reflect. Thank you for sharing these wonderful thoughts with us all, Debbie.

Just these:
What has occurred in the past year, and where is life's journey taking me. (end with a question mark)
In the past year, what areas have I blossomed in, and what areas have been in need of more attention. (end with a question mark)
What might need to be given up to have the resources needed. (end with a question mark)
may involve time, money or financial changes
(there's a redundance with "money" and "financial" - they are pretty much the same)
I would love to watch the sunrise... (new paragraph)
Take care! :)

(I looked at my handwritten copy and it should have said energy, not financial-oops) Thank you so much for your kind review and comments. I don't know how I missed the question marks~Debbie

This is a very interesting and very well written article. It does make sense to take the month of December to ponder over one's life during the past year.
Good Job. JW
