Your statement was honourable. It was a brave subject to discuss but I believe you hit the nail on the head with a few of your personal beliefs. If only everyone spoke their mind like you. This world would disregard caged-thoughts.

The spirit of Adam must have been filled with joy that his friends were inspired to recall the essence of his life. I admire your writing skill. You took me to church with you. A most enjoyable read.

Great story! Death is sad, especially for one so young. It is so refreshing to know that these young people truly knew how to celebrate their friend's life. A good read.

For the subject this was a very nice story about Adam, his friends and his funeral.
Three years ago I buried my only child,a son, at his funeral their was a little laughter and some heavy metal music, for that was what he would have liked.

Marcii - thank you for your kind words. I have no way of addressing your own loss. Losing a child to me is just against the balance of nature. God Bless You. Bill

Hullo Friend ...
This really is so beautiful and your well-chosen words and descriptions of the way Adam's young school-friends spoke about his life, have provided great imagery for your readers.
There is nothing to suggest changing and as this is a Contest entry, I wish you well.
Love from .... Nanette Mary.

Mystery Writer,
your flash fiction story is very written and an enjoyable read. Your story paints a picture in the readers head. Excellent narrative, great characterization and good dialogue descriptive writing. In a minimum amount of words for a maximum effect you established a setting, conflict, and a resolution to your story. I enjoyed the story you told. Your story titled Celebration of Life is an excellent entry in the Works INform Faith writing prompt. I wish you good luck in the contest. May God keep blessing you andyour pen.
Missy.

What a lovely story of this celebration of life - I can just imagine the spirit in that church as this young man's friends reminisced :-) Good luck in the contest with a wonderfully written essay. Brooke :-)

'Amazing Grace', sung in Cherokee.
Wow that would be something different to hear. Shows a unique clue as to who this friend was to you. His spirit lives on and this ceremony did a great job by celebrating this fact.

Hi Author, this is great. How rare it is to attend a funeral of a kid, and listen to other kids' comments on the deceased. That you realize this as a celebration of life shows your sensitivity.

A good story which evoked sympathy for Adam. Stories about funerals always move us to tears.
However,Mine was next to some kids - I am sure it was not reserved for you. I sat next to a few kids would be better.
Listening to the well-known tune, but with haunting, unknown words, was surreal- words, it was surreal.
What more could have been said.? at the end.
