The forces of nature are scary. The destruction is horrendous as is the loss of life. Great thought provoking poem and art. A sad reality of natures work at its worst. Good work.

they most certainly are an amazing and mysterious force! My computer crashed once again and still is on the defuncted list --(am using my mother's today) so, obviously, I have alot of catching up to do! Congrats again on another excellent poem! Lea Ann

Well, I'm not sure if this is a haiku or a senryu. My gut feeling is that since this captures both an essence of nature and of the human experience that it would be classified as a senryu. The word "sadness" should pretty much seal the deal on that debate. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this Japanese style poem. I've lived in a tornado zone and have seen first hand the destruction that can result of such a storm. Very scarry, every bit as scarry as a powerful earthquake or hurricane. Good little poem here. Sincerely, Dean

Short and sweet. I think the quickness of this poem is a symbol of how quick a natural disaster can destroy the lives so many and shows how the "nurturing" mother nature can really be a mean bitch. ( LOL )

Well done haiku. Followed the requirements well, no spelling errors or grammatical errors. Portrayed the message of the poem with this photo. Great idea.

Well, I think that simply states the facts. Last line in the true nature of a haiku, related, but in a different perspective. Well written.

Love Haiku, used to spend many bus rides in writing them ages ago when I was in school. Great marriage of picture and poem. How many ways can one say "good job" in one day lol.. great little poem

Simply, yet powerful. Telling so much with so little words. Such emotions and such sadness. I believe you did a wonderful job with this piece - my hat off to you.

Monte,
It seems that you are at your best when the theme is a destructive one! LOL This one is really great. Your arrangement was well thought out. The theme was good.
I saw no SPAG and no typos. Everything looked in place.
Your feelings are very understandable and expressed through the poem.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

Earthwriter,
What about an earthquake? Have you done that one yet? I just went through an earthquake the night before last.
I was thinking about writing about my experience.

Earthwriter,
This is a great example of a haiku. No mistakes. You did a great job. I live in Oklahoma and am familiar with the whole tornado thing. It's really bizarre...a tornado warning sounds and you will see people standing outside watching the sky. That's being smart! Ha.
