I'm sorry for your loss. As my mother is aging, she has in some ways become more childlike in her behavior...even in her appearance. It's hard to watch as her vitality wanes.
Your writing is exceptional and a pleasure to read.
Take care Mrs. KT and "be" blessed.

This one really hit the spot for me. I was diagnosed with Parkinsons' 12 years ago. It is becoming an uphill struggle. Luckily I do not have dementia, or rather, if I do everyone is keeping it secret. bearing in mind that I have the fear of that happening The line that was most significant to me was
"we eased your fears and all laughed".
Thank you for sharing it, your words were excellent

I felt that this was a very touching and caring poem, I easily identified with this as I have provided comfort to those between worlds. I especially enjoyed the last lines that remind us to remained tempered as we too may need help. Beautiful!

I Identify so deeply with this poem and its meaning, my mother had strokes that slowly took her into dementia , and the roles reversed, she called my Mom in her last three years.
It is such great sensitivity in the images that your words created, and so much truth !

You did a very good job on this poem. Your comments were good also. I went through the same with my mom. She ended up with cancer and she regressed back into a younger day. Love, Teri
