interesting article, and a solid choice for the contest. I would recommend, telling us, or making up, who is speaking to us in this article. Also, I think some of the sentences can be trimmed a bit, to better the pace of reading. Good luck.
Ex:
In the depths of radioactive Chernobyl, scientists have found an organism (in which is} "feasting" on the radiation.
-In the depths of radioactive Chernobyl, scientists have found an organism "feasting" on the radiation.
the black fungi had appeared in the areas in which the radiation levels were the highest.
-the black fungi had appeared where the radiation levels were the highest.
as it has been stated the fungi eats the radiation and transforms it into harness-able power in the form of growth.
-No, all this wasn't stated.

Well, this is fascinating and I, for one, had never heard of this fungi! But this certainly fills me with hope that it could be used, as you say, in mitigating the harmful effects of radiation and restoring life to our planet. Nature is a wonderful thing isn't it? Always determined to restore the balance. Keep reading and researching, please. And good luck! Debbie
