Oh my!! My admiration keeps growing for you! It's prayer that keeps us going because we have to turn it all over to the Lord. My youngest is 32 and is still dependent on us. She refused to go to school and got a GED instead. That was a shock for me. At this point, I don't know if I will have the joy of her having a husband and kids. But I keep praying! Thanks for sharing!

I may have told this story before. I put my parents through much agony. I was an honor student in college, but alcohol was a large part of my life. I became a Christian later on and when my mother died, I told her I loved her and asked if she loved me. One of the last things she said to me was, "I loved you ever since you were born."

It sometimes takes being a parent to understand exactly what you put your parents through and Jeff seems to have needed to get over that high octane, hormonal stage of adolescence to be able to settle down into a more sedate and responsible lifestyle. No outside influence was ever going to stop him.
Geoffrey will make (me) a great grandma...
Lovely story of family life, Barbara. Take care Debbie

Those kids who are very brilliant or not bad kids those kids are bored by the lack of effort they have to put into their studies. My oldest daughter has a very high IQ. I don't know what it is, but it's quite high and she does very well with the jobs that she does she's very Loyal to her employer and she is a CPA who graduated from college and then went and got her CPA when she took the exam for CPA she scored the third highest of all the people who took their test that day and back then they had to take all four parts of the test on the same day or the same week. I think I think they took two parts one day and two parts in the next, but she is very brilliant. Patricia.

It's a wonder that we as parents ever make it to a ripe old age.... at least with our sanity intact. There's always something going on or someone in trouble. I had one that I drove to school, watched him walk into the school, only to learn later, that he walked out the front door and went home while I went to work. The joys of parenthood.

I have fixed that area. I do understand. Brian used to say the boys were a tag team match. We'd get one problem solved and the next one would do something. Thank you for the understanding.

OMG, the pulley at the window. Smart kid (I know, bad behavior).
The thing I like the most about these stories is that they could be anybody's. I don't know how you survived boys with a husband constantly deployed. Did the military ever give you a ribbon or award for your service?
Happy Thanksgiving.

It's amazing what God can do, I'm glad we only had two daughters, they were never any trouble, I have no illusions about myself, I/we were just fortunate, to have kids who behaved well, because kids are still kids, but God made them the way they are, He once told me, do your best, and leave the rest to me, beautifully written, blessings Roy

That is so true, and Jeff is living proof of that. It's also true if we bring them up in the Lord, although they may stray, they will return. Thank you for the understanding.

That's right, as a grandparent, I know I have to keep God as my focus, He will do the rest. Bless you

He sure does.

I haven't had a Jeff except for the school work not being done. My son was also extremely intelligent but couldn't focus. Amazing how different each child is. Great writing. Gretchen

I'll fix that if I can. His oldest son's name is Geoffrey. Thank you for the understanding.
