Thank you very much. My heart always skips a beat when I see geese in flight heading south.

This one does it for me because I love to see those geese making their noisy getaway in their characteristic 'v' formation. Your 5-7-5 sums this up perfectly. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Yes - its that time of year again when Nature begins her resting or dormant season and geese depart for warmer climes - nature's rhythms are enthralling

Many thanks for sharing my poem, zanya. Can I use your phrase "enthralling rhythms" as a title of a future poem?

Yes, you ably capture the moment between Fall and Winter in this 5-7-5 contest entry. They do squawk - because they don't agree this year with the Election results? LOL

Minor editorial comment, flight is singular or a collective (for geese), so 'make' should be 'makes.' Comma or dash necessary after your first line?

IMHO substitute 'their' for 'a' in your last line.

Mark

Hi, Mark, I really appreciate your close reading of my 5-7-5. And thanks for catching that subject/verb agreement error. Yes, the election results likely scared them off.

Flying south for warmer climes is a huge undertaking for these birds and they prepare well in advance as they decide who takes the lead and who will back up the leaders. It is strategic and does not fail, but not all birds make the journey, the weaker ones fall behind. I admire these birds as they recognise the natural order of things without argument, love Dolly x x x

Dolly, you seem to have researched birds. I like how you express their ability to "recognize the natural order of things." Many thanks for sharing my poem.i

An excellent entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt. You have drawn a vivid image with your words alone but the picture you added really adds to your presentation. Good job.
