A fine photo, and an equally fine poem to describe the cabin, and relate a little of its history along with the influence of passing time. Sending good wishes for the contest.

I was sure I already reviewed this but I guess I'm scatter-brained today. Your photo is gorgeous and your poem describes it perfectly and you even give advice on how to dress to enjoy that peaceful place.
Best wishes in the contest!

Sounds like a place that I would love to live, Actually I was born In Tennessee and would love to go back. You bring out many visuals, a rural paradise.

Love it. Took me to a place much like a place I have known many years ago. The people did work hard and developed the area, and it now gives a chance to unwind. Good one Beth. Well done.

Some lovely rhyming, Beth! You had fun with this and it helps the fluency of the verse so well. I enjoyed reading your little potted history of how this settlement came about. Delightful! Good luck! Debbie

In the days that this cabin was built, the man were truly men and they were hard-working. I enjoyed your poem very much and it flows very well. When it is read aloud may you have a wonderful day and may God bless you.

Well done, and if you fall short on expectations of being a writer, you could make a living in photography, if this photo is one of your. It's breathtaking.

Thank you, Tom. I'm glad you like my picture. Cades Cove is a great place to get good picture, especially in spring and fall. I don't take as many as I used to. I took that with my Canon gut lately mostly with my phone.

It amazes me the quality of phone photographs
They challenge even my Nikons

I've been to Cades Cove. It's beautiful, a great place to live. It's a wonder that the area was by-passed for a hundred years.
Very nicely written post. Good work.

It sounds so inviting and educational, too, but I think you'll need comfy shoes, too--or at least I know I would. I loved the poem, and the Smokey Mountains are absolutely beautiful to travel through.

Thank you, Carol. Yes if plan to walk you need comfortable shoe. You can drive, walk, rent a bike or a horse. I love to go there but at certain times there is a traffic the stop to get picture of bear or deer.

This is so charming! I love how you capture the spirit of Cades Cove. I thought you did a wonderful job of bringing to life the beauty of the place. The imagery of the settlers working the land and building a community feels so peaceful. Your words really make me want to visit it myself. Great job! Keep up the wonderful work!

Thank you, Michael. It is a wonderful place to visit. There is bear, deer and other wildlife. You can rent bike, hike or ride horse or just drive though. Many settlers' cabins, churches, a grist mill and waterfalls, Sometimes, there is traffic. The roads are one way and you can't pass unless drivers pull over.
