I could really picture this scene as I was reading it, Carol. It made me think of the Florida hurricane last week as I was reading and I was really hoping the people would come back to rescue Katie and her dad, I was sure they would. An excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

BeaUtifully written and so very timely with the nightmares people are suffering with the hurricanes down south.

Any time a puppy is rescued, so am all in!
Great read!

Very vivid description of their drastic circumstances, and the tension and emotions running high in both the girl and her father. I am so glad she heard the desperate cries of the puppy and they were able to save him as well. Beautifully written.

You sure built up the tension well. Cute little ending. I don't really know what I was expecting, I knew she would be rescued, otherwise why tell the story, but I did not see this coming. :-)

This is a most enjoyable read, creating a level of suspense from the beginning as the waters rose all around - the terrified puppy showing up to bring a sense of joy in the difficult situation.

What an emotional heart-tug of a story! Yes, God's timing is always perfect. This was a great example of that. It's well written with good dialogue throughout. Blessings. Carol

Thanks, Carol...

As we've all been riveted on the hurricanes and tornadoes ravaging Florida through to North Carolina, it's nice to read of prayers answered, with an adorable saved puppy no less!

You have me smiling as I sip my afternoon tea.

I just heard there are 24 confirmed deaths from Milton. I pray for those who God called home as well!

I learned from Carissa that the outskirts of the hurricane reached them but they were okay, just some siding missing from the side of the house. Lots of wind she said. I felt this story gave a little joy and relief from all the sadness.

It is comforting to glimpse the silver lining in the frightening whirl of dark clouds!

I pray all clouds soon have silver linings! And if by some miracle, a few silver coins are dropped that will be acceptable too! lol

I loved this story. It was so well written and descriptive. It is hard to wait on God for something. I have been praying for a year for something,. I get so impatient, wondering when he will answer my prayers. I know he will in his time. The story was so interesting and I enjoyed it.

You too. I was wondering how long have you been writing?

I've written all my life, Brenda. During my childhood, it was my way of holding my life together. then as I got older, I found comfort in writing and letting my feelings explode on the written page. Now that my husband has passed, I promised him I would continue to write. I truly love it.

This story brought tears to my eyes. I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing this very precious story with us. Yes, God works in mysterious ways but always has a reason for what He does.

Thanks Barbara. I had to shake off some of the psycho vibes I've been reading and writing, so I thought the rescue of a puppy would be just the trick. Glad that you enjoyed it.

Carol. I am reading along, immersed in the story, emotions running high and you add a helpless puppy to the mix? You really know how to tug at the heart! Great story especially coming on the devastation made by hurricane Milton. Thanks for sharing
