Wow, you have been busy and I appreciate hearing from you and your kind words. Thank you for the six stars too, my sweet bro. Love, Debi
My cut and pastes were meant to be funny with yours that were so obvious. LOL.. or is it that you are about to turn 70 years old and you're getting forgetful? Hahahahaha! Love ya, dear brother!!!!!! Debi

Cut and paste? Whatever do you mean? Did I have about five posts from the road that said exactly the same thing Word for Word? Are you telling me I find myself on Saturday evening with 6 six stars remaining? Whatever are you talking about? Lol be blessed in this your birthday month.

I sure hope you knew I was giving you a bad time because I do the same thing.

Such a sweet, lovely poem! I love the photo!!
A child's kiss is so innocent and sincere as you say.
Best wishes with this wonderful poem,

I must confess I kiss my dog,; her kisses are innocent, but not so sweet.

Hi Cindy, and thank you so very much for the lovely words for my kiss poem. I love kids so much that when I saw this picture I knew I had to do something with it. It was a fun one to write. And to tell you the truth I used to always kiss my dog too. LOL.. Thanks again, with all my heart.
Love, Debi

That picture is so sweet. It looks like the child and the dog are striking similar poses. They both have their faces all scrunched up. Your stanzas about what makes a kiss from a child special are delightful. As you write, the joy and love shines through, and that little kiss can give you a boost. I Don't know--that dog is so cute I might go ahead and kiss it, too. Your lines flow smoothly and the rhyme sounds natural and unforced. judi

Thank you, Judi, for the sweet detailed comments for my children's kisses. To tell you the truth I am missing mine something fierce right now. My youngest will turn 13 next week and they are growing up so fast that I can hardly stand it. I stayed young with them, but it I guess it is just part of life.
However, my favorite line in the poem was, "There is no better anything."
That is pretty much how I feel. Yes, the puppy and the girl are both precious.
So thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I appreciate your kind words immensely. It is always so good to see you too, my dear friend. Love, Debi

Hahaha the picture is precious. I'm glad poochie only gets hugs, but your poem certainly describes the emotions involved in getting a little one's kiss. My daughter and grandson are grown, so it's been a while since I got a kiddie smooch. Evi

Oh, thanks so much evilynne. I appreciate your kind words more than you could possibly know. I miss that age, of the girl and the dog. LOL.
My youngest grandkid will turn 13 soon and that will be it for grandma's kisses. It is time to get out my book of potions I guess. Haha.
Thanks again, my dear friend and I have to tell you how wonderful it was to see you again. Love, Debi

Hi Debi. You've made a topical interest of innocence and good feeling, and for this feature you chose a picture that's hard to beat. The tide of delight that fills a child as she or he comes to experience the world is always wonderful. I hope you're health is good and that you have plenty of opportunities to joy from all its sources! Frank

Love the pic of the child and the pooch, it is heart warming. This is such a wonderful subject for a poem and it makes the reader feel good. There is a light feel and flow to your words that takes the reader to another place. I remember being kissed by my niece when she was a toddler.

Excellent picture to complement your delightful poem. Children do bring smiles and giggles to us and when it involves an adorable pet, that adds even more joy.
Loved your sweet poem Debi.
Blessings

This is such a sweet poem, Debbie. Children bring so much joy and can brighten the darkest of days. your rhyme and metre rolls down the page beautifully.
'It's very strong, and feels so mild'
I wanted to read 'yet' feels so mild here.
The picture is adorable!
Well done x

Hi Debi!
Awwwww! What a sweet poem! (You know, I'm really a big softie. I have to remind people of that considering some of the stuff I write! *laughs*) I LOVE this poem. It might be the best I have read from you so far. I also really like the font. It adds so much to the presentation.
Your best stanzas are the first and the last.
---In the first one are your two best lines:
FIRST: "Angelic magic pucker style" --This is magnificent! There is something about this just rolls off the tongue and has that "fun" factor when said out loud. If I were trying to nail it down, I think it is the "g" alliteration in the first two words and then the -ck fricative and the sibilance in the last two words. I know this may seem like too much analysis, but I love trying to figure out what makes certain words and combinations of words sound good and others stumbly and unpleasant. This one is most certainly not, though! An exceptional phrase!
SECOND: "There is no better anything" -- Most poets would have said "There is nothing better" or "There is no better thing" (for the rhyme) The choice to say "anything" makes all the difference!
---In the last stanza it is about the message as a whole and your choice of end-rhymes (-uch and -ooch). I particularly liked the first couplet: it has perfect iambic rhythm and is very bouncy!
Great job, Debi! I am heading to bed, but I wanted to do one more review before my boiled broccoli gets done! (By the smell, I think it's just about there! *giggles*) Talk to you again soon!
Patrick
P.S. Hey guess what? It's October 1st! March is getting closer! *big cheesy grin*

Patrick, this meant the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have a floating iPad over my bed and about 5AM I read this over and over again and it made me smile all day long.
Many times I don't so easily find exactly what feels right and get it right where it needs to go and walk away feeling so secure. But it wouldn't have mattered who said it, I wouldn't have changed the line "There is no better anything" for anyone in the world. That line said exactly what I wanted it to and it was all me.
I appreciate all the lovely words for this poem, your six stars and for taking the time to make my day on a day when I needed it so much. You really do rock, Patrick!!
Thank you, again. And I hope you are enjoying it here, because we are enjoying having you here. You fit in perfectly. Take care and thank you, again. Love, Debi
BTW, I do have a little fun planned for your birthday already. It will be here before you know it.
