That only counts as a date with guys. I am busier than a one armed paperhanger at a wallpaper convention. I do not have time to review each one in order to catch up. Good theme. Good work. Karen

You really got the gawky teen comically right in this chapter Jim. It was a fun read about these enterprising young lads, and Brian, who really got lucky with his lawn moving job at Sandi's place. Well writtten Jim.
cheers

I just had to think back to my own gawky days to come up with this. Thanks so much, Valda.

Good for Fran for graduating and joining the police force.
Yeah right, Brian was going to tutor Sandi in math. Would 1 + 1 equals getting to 2nd base? :-) I don't blame him, though, if Sandi is that hot.
Derek should lighten up--and get a hot girl of his own to--ahem!--tutor.
Interesting chapter. Now on to the next...

Hey, thanks for reading and reviewing. A lot of teen angst will be present for a while, then we'll get into some darker themes. I hope you continue with it.

Damn! I wish I'd studied math harder at school. I never realised how useful it could be!
This sounds like an interesting situation. I look forward to reading further developments.

Yeah, that's something you'd never think about as a benefit! Let's see how far it gets him.

Brian is going to have a chance to spend time with a hot older girl. I'm sure he'll think it means more than she will. I won't speculate at this point, but he may end up disappointed after she passes her math test.
This reminded me of my teen years where we all tried to find our place in the world and tried to figure out how life worked. Great look at the way teens think.

Hey, Lorraine, good instincts. Yeah, we guys always make more of a little attention than we should.

Hello Jim,
Oh to be a teenage boy again. The trials and tribulations are more than I can stand to think about now. As you know, it didn't take much to get our flags flying at full staff. Those were the days. Being around a good looking gal was usually so intimidating to me, that I didn't even attempt to engage them in a conversation. It will be interesting to see where this goes. I can see trouble on the horizon. Well done Jim.
Have a blessed evening.

I fondly remember those full-staff days. Half-staff is about the best I can manage anymore!
Only once did I have the guts to ask out a real babe. I was 15 at the time. She lived in a different state but was visiting her cousin for a month one summer. Her cousin was a friend of my older brother who told me about her and said I should ask her out, which I did and she accepted. This girl liked to go out a lot and usually dated older guys back home, but I guess she didn't know many guys around my town so she went out with me. We had 2 or 3 dates before she had to return home. She was really hot and taught me how to french kiss. Fond memories I have of that girl!

I can only imagine Jim. I don't have any issues yet with half staff, but at times I'm reminded of a remark by my friend's father when he said his piece was just an ornament now.

Ha-ha. Perhaps not a very attractive one either!

Jim, I really enjoyed reading this short story you have penned. It made me think back to when I was a teenager and would sunbathe in my yard in my bikini. My best friend and I did, and we got all kind of attention Great story with great descriptive words and dialogue. Blessings, Teri

Thanks so much, Teri. This was actually a chapter in my serialized novel I've been posting.
Those were the days, huh? I fondly remember them well!

Sounds like a typical, healthy young lad. But Sandi is not "Abby" so I'm pretty sure she's not the one for him. It was good how well Fran succeeded in reaching her goals while supporting her little brother.

It won't be for lack of trying on Brian's part. Can't blame him for trying anyway. He'll be needing his sister's strength throughout much of the story.

Well, the exercising paid off if a hot girl noticed him. Now to help her without just giving up and doing the worksheets for her. His buddies will envy him, but he has the opportunity to learn how to interact with a girl who isn't his sister.

Now with his foot in the door, let's see if he'll be able to charm her enough to go out with him.

I know that feeling of knowing, or rather thinking that a girl is way out of your league, but the like you anyway, I could never work out why, but privileged anyway, I can remember looking at a photo of myself at 21, looking pretty buff, looking a little like James Dean. I look closer to Joe Biden now, heh heh, well done, great post, blessings Roy

Thanks so much for that 6, Roy. I remember well being a horny teenager of around Brian's age and the few experiences I had with good-looking girls. What a time of life with many ups and downs to it. We'll see if Brian has a chance with this girl.

It will be interesting, who understands the female mind.
