We go through these stages so often over the years sometimes we don't even recognize them. The loss of anything can trigger grief. The time spent in each stage is different for all and can overlap with multiple traumas. I love how you expressed each one.

So heavy yet echoes in my soul. I really think you did a great job describing grief. I like the originality of this poem. How painful and so well described

If I had a six, it'd be yours.
I liked the structure of the poem. The reader can focus on one stage at a time. The personification of th stages and their affect on the person is very effective. To make grief living and breathing while a loss is experienced, turns the tables and expresses each stage perfectly.

Great job with your description of each of the five stages of grief. The way you personified each really brought them to life allowing the reader to experience each stage in their own interpretation. Keep up the good work and good luck in the contest. Have a great day.

This poem delves deep into the human experience, exploring your journey through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance with vivid imagery and raw emotion. Overall, your poem is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of acceptance.

Excellent poem about the five stages of grief. You described them well. I have experience them so I can relate.
I like the presentation too.
Maybe you can add a crises life line number for suicide prevention or other mental illness. # 988

This was so moving and so real. I gave seen many people in different stages as part of my job and have personally experienced my daughter actually go through this as crazy as it sounds with her daddy leaving for a time. I felt "tossing coins in an overflowing well and watching my wishes spill out" it's so powerful. I'm new to this site but have become obsessed. This was an amazing way to start my morning. Thank you

allison, I am so touched by your kind words and wonderful review. I'm very sorry to hear you watched your daughter go through a similar experience- and it doesn't sound crazy at all! I hope she's ok and through the tough times. Xoxo

A powerful and moving poem about dealing with the death following the classic stages of grief personified. the poem touches on the deep feeling that the lost of a love one entails and how difficult it is to overcome it.
