This poem, The Lovers, reduces the Bards great love story to this quick and easy guide to star-crossed love and the mistakes of young people who fall in love.

I know who you are, but I won't say anything. I came looking to see your work and couldn't get past this gorgeous piece of poetry. Your rhyme and meter are right on and you give such a great account of the story that it is better than the play.

What a beautiful read and delight to look at as well. So your presentation and poem are spot on. Thank you for introducing me in such a perfect way to what you do with your talent. Bravo, my friend, Bravo!! Debi

An excellent poem, tracing their lives and live in wonderful verse, with language suited to the time. I enjoyed it a lot. It's original and creative, and quite different. Best wishes for the contest.

This poetic rendition of Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet," adeptly captures the essence of the classic tale of star-crossed lovers. Thanks for sharing.

A fine poetic rendition of the popular Shakespeare story of these two lovers who find themselves with a forbidden love that was the death of the two of them, a fine post for the contest, love Dolly x

What a nice complimentary piece to the works of William Shakespear! Your spoiler alert caption gave me a chuckle.

Silly teenagers killing themselves.

Great piece. I bid you good fortunes in the competition!

This is terrific! Your poem beautifully captures the tragic and timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet. The use of rhyming couplets gives it a lyrical quality. It's like Shakespeare's own writing style! The use of repetition, particularly in the refrain "Romeo loved Juliet," reinforces the central theme of your poem. This was excellent. Great job!

An excellent entry for the No Restriction poetry writing prompt. This is a wonderful re-telling of the masterpiece. I give you credit for reading his entire works. I couldn't make it past the language barrier. I'm glad it has a home now. Thanks for sharing.
