A fine retelling of the Easter story and your choice of telling it from the point of view of someone who was actually there gives it immediacy and strengthens the emotional impact.

I can never hear this story enough, dear Mike, and the way you have written this, through the eyes and thoughts of Paulus, was amazing. I always get goosebumps on my arms when I read about Jesus. It is the loveliest story told. I wonder if we will be any different when He does come again, will we believe in Him, or will we turn our backs. It is not a nice world today, and God must wonder about us. Your story just brings his love for us, and the forgiveness His Father, promised us on Jesus' death out and touched my heart. Well done, my friend, I loved this story and the way you told it. Happy Easter to you and yours. Sandra xx

This is a very involved and much better-written story than the usual ones. If I had a six, you might have received it. But, I think the trees in the picture are the wrong kind. Good Work. Karen

Your story is nicely executed and written with vivid details. The reader almost feels as if he or she is standing there witnessing Jesus's death. Excellent writing.

Mike, your story is absolutely moving. I don't think I've ever heard it told with such insight. It is respectful, heartfelt, and flawless. I love the part about the blood being dark because of the darkness of the moment. I like the perspective of Paulus and how he could have intervened, but didn't because Jesus didn't want it. I also liked the smile of the Savior's face.
Thank you, thank you for sharing your tale of love and redemption.

This was told as a very moving story stripped of some less essential occurrences to provide a thoughtful story about the reason for Easter. One sentence I did question: "I need to . . . process (though or through?) God bless you in this season of God's love.

One can scarcely imagine what that day was like but you did an awesome job of describing it in writing. And on Sunday we celebrate Christ's resurrection and His gift of eternal life. Thanks for sharing and reminding us.

Your skillful telling of a story that should be familiar to most, was made to seem very real, like an eyewitness account of the tragic execution of an innocent man. Yet had he not endured this execution, there would remain no hope for men who exercise faith in God's promise for a bright future. Something we should never forget, the betrayal which was the work of Satan the Devil is the beginning and the execution of Jesus, was the antidote to the death sentence caused by Satan's deceitful actions.
