This story continues to intrigue and fascinate. You have the ability to create character descriptions that let the reader feel, see and hear each person from their perspective. Great job. ann

Thank you very much, Ann. That is such an encouraging review, and I am honoured to receive six stars as well.

It seem by thaking in this child you did make a big difference in a life there could not have fared as well without you. That was a hugh sacrifice on your part that few people would make. It seem that he would be a part of you life as long as he survives even if you aren't his physical caregiver.

Sorry, I've been away for a while and missed Jonathan's story. You sound like a wonderful foster parent and Jonathan was lucky you chose to nurture him and love him for always. Bless you for your loving heart.

Thank you so much. His story is a long and complex one, but we built a very special relationship. I appreciate your very kind review.

This would make good reading for any foster parent. The business of letting go can be hard enough with our own children. In these circumstances, doubly so. Your writing has a beautiful balance between hard fact and emotion.

Thank you very much Tony for your insightful review. Yes, foster parents would understand this and relate to it, but some of the preceding chapters may turn people off fostering, and so would some of the coming ones. But at least it would be a dose of reality. Thank you again.

Wow again, Wendy, I am so awed by your selfless love for Jonathan and your deep caring through the most trying times. There are no words for this kind of love, but surely this young man understood the loving gestures you showed him over the years. It goes without saying, this is beautifully written.

Wow. This is so full of authentic emotion and descriptions of your feelings, and your husband's, about taking on thee responsibilities. It takes good people to care for others, and to change your own life routine based on what others' needs are. You have written this very well. Thank you for sharing it. Best wishes.

"Happily ever after" not the way real life works most of the time. Nor is life usually "smooth." Maybe that is what keeps life interesting perchance.
Once he was no longer fostered by you the reality is there probably will not be anywhere near as much you can do for him though you apparently anguish over that issue.
Sounds like you did the best for him you could. That is all you could do.
How true. So called experts are not always "attuned to what is best for each individual."
For Act Three seems you will be much more of a mere spectator than perhaps you want to be.

Thanks for reviewing, Brett. It's hard to be a spectator in the face of corruption and wrong-doing.

I totally agree about those in their ivory towers, they are usually so far removed from the affect of the decisions they make. Your passion for family comes through Wendy. I think as parents we can all think, i could have done that better.
Cheers

You write this well. It must be hard to live through it when you write. I write mostly with humor and the occasional dead body. When I attempt to write about my "real" life, I become too filled with anger. So, I write funny things. My anger does not need a voice.
You tell your tale with love and hope. Karen

In the previous post review I just submitted, I made mention of waiting for the shoe to drop. Everything seemed to perfect and when we have to rely on government programs or intervention, there is normally a "but" or a "what if".
I would like to say I'm looking forward to your next post in a happy way, but I honestly cannot. You have me immersed in Jonathan's story and I need to know what happens and that he is being well cared for.
He is now a member of our FanStory family!

How wonderful! I am so glad you are immersed in his story - that's the greatest compliment any writer could hope for. And thank you for adopting him into the FS story - that too means a lot. I hope his story will continue to engross you as it unfolds. Thank you for a super review.
