Hi John, your college day were fun filled, but best of that's where you met your wife. A fun story that made me smile. I could see it, and I could hear it, especially the laughs at your jokes...dopey remarks. So when did Debbie learn that you could cook? Big-teeth smile. Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing. Hi Margaret.
I guess I learned to cook as time went on and we both shared the duties at different times. I'm more of a shoot from the hip kind of guy, whereas Debbie needs a recipe.
Thanks for reading and stopping by. Sorry for the late response.

A very entertaining story, well done and best of all true. How sweet to meet your Mrs. at college and to be happy all these years. Well done in more ways than one.

Great story! Oh to be in college again, those were the days! You had a lot of detailed description about what college kids do, buy beer before food, skip class and so on. I went to college in the 70s too. Times were so different. Barbara H.

The subjects we take in school are often due to other subjects we are interested in. When you say the rest is history, I am assuming you married the girl.
Fun slice of life story.
Thanks for sharing.

I always enjoy your writing. This piece is no exception. Oh! Those wonderful days of collage. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

All things must end good or bad. Sounds like you got the one you wanted. or was meant to be. Typical college guys. I suppose your college studies helped. The tennis match never did. LOL. Good one, John.

A very lovely story with lots of interesting snippets into how you got together. Celebrate well. What are you making for the first date anniversary dinner? For us, gnocchi tomorrow.

Pasta or potato?

I think that is great. Mine was left solo at our frat house as her escort got stewed. Strike one. Being the chapter advisor I made sure she got to the dorm. I stalked her for weeks but had no nibbles to my offer to date, I was ten yrs her sr. The another "brother" got drunk and could not take her to the military ball. I pinched-hitted surprising her. She said no way but accepted dinner. Ten days later I was engaged. Married Jun '79

Logan's Run???? Really? Was that a chic flick?
Well written, of course. (I've learned to expect that.)
Happy Anniversary to both of you!
Best wishes.

A nice quiet story. A flash from the past. Kids today would be shocked to have to face the opposite sex face to face and converse without a phone or internet. Heaven's to Betsy! The horror of it all! Good writing.

Imagine a first date today at a restaurant and both people sitting and on their phones not engaging each other.
I can.

I remember when cell phones first came out in the eighties, a lot of restaurants had signs in their windows saying, no phones allowed inside.
