Your wonderfully perfect poem really tugged at my heartstrings, especially your the last three stanzas. I felt both your pain and your father's pain, a great loss for the both of you. Although we may never understand the hearts and minds of loved ones who forbid us to see other loved ones, we still love and we still pray, though the hurt and pain stays with us. Life can certainly be harsh.
Beautiful flow, thanks for sharing the photographs, enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme. I believe your poem, so thoughtfully written, will be cherished by many who are in the same place you are and will appreciate it because you expressed it well, delicately but honestly.
Hugs & blessings,
Gale

You've written a powerful poem. It's like I can hear the little boy reading the poem to me as I went through it. I like how you set up the rhythm with your selection of words and the order you put them in.

A very sad poem. I am sure he continued to love you and it is very sad to think of the pain each of you had to carry through the years. A lovely tribute. Best wishes for the contest.

Oh that is so sad. I am a father estranged from my daughter and tears welled up. Beautifully written and I wish you every happiness. Thank you for sharing this.

Life can play such cruel games and there is so little we can do about it. It does sound as though you made a connection..of sorts...and, you should be commended for trying.
Very heartfelt read..........................
