I admire your use of words that fit this picture so perfectly. I like your last line, a true line. Despite dark waters, the sun still shines. You say much in few words and this is a poem that makes the reader feel good.

The truth of your ekphrastic poem is one we need to remind ourselves of when things tend to go sideways in our lives. This illustrates the picture well. Count your syllables again. I think you have one too many.

The poem masterfully describes the picture. We can feel the raging waves on the water. It's hard to do an ekphrasis in 15 syllables, but you nailed it here!!
Well done

nicely done mediative poem inspired by the photo. I like how you tie it all to dark waters rising over the world covering everything with despair and darkness at time but you can still see the light to get through the dark moments

A beautiful and layered poem, an encouragement to all. There are certain stable things, despite the fragility of life and the tumultuous experiences we may go through. We can be assured by their consistency. Well said.

You did a super job with your club response, Kahpot.
Your syllable count was correct per line. Your words
were well-chosen and meaningful. This reminded me
of the saying life goes on. Great use of alliteration of
s & w.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Nice work. Well constructed and your composition is well arranged. Some more emotive language may have earned you a higher ranking. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Kahpot,
Very literal, and I suppose it can be real for some, not so much for others. It reminds me of a Tsunami. The earth shakes, bringing the waters rising, it brings darkness, destruction.
Having nothing to do with the weather, the sun can be shining, it can be a beautiful day. On the other hand, the sun can shine it's light on a family who finds a loved one has been spared from the wreckage. The sun, still shining on a family that survived together, while others were not so lucky.
I liked this Ekphrastic Poem. It put me in a solid place.
