Hi, Willie! I enjoyed this poem with a message to be kind, especially to God if it happens, you pass to that side. It's one of my goals in life or perhaps in death! Super cool poem! Best JohnC

That's a good one, Willie. There are many who suffer when a spouse dies. Some choose to stick it out to the end alone, while others take an alternate route.

This was quite an enjoyable and cleverly written story in a poem. The storyline flowed smoothly with unforced rhymes. Your chosen artwork paired perfectly with the message of the poem. Well done.

Another great offering! You have captured the essence of this character vividly through each line. A lonely, reclusive sort who had known deep love, perhaps not widely understood by many. The last line confronts and challenges, almost posing a question to the reader: "How would you respond, if God came to call?" I love the presentation, image, font: It's a whole package deal!

Hi,
Your poem sounds very realistic. Is this somebody you used to know or have you made it up?
Very sad story. Losing one's partner must be terrible.
Thanks so much for sharing your lovely poem.

Heather, thanks for the review and stars. I drew the picture and fitted
the poem around it. I draw a lot of my own pictures. Willie

Wow! I can only draw stick men.

This is just a precious poem of a cowboy long departed that someone loved. It's always sad to see someone lose their spouse and give her the world to carry on. This was perfectly written and metered and rhymed. So aching for six today. Sending along with very best to you and yours as always, Sally XOs

That was so sad, Willie, and probably about half the population who have lost their other half. When you beloved dies, you die a little too. You change. I know, I've been there, and I watched my mother after my dear father died. Mum didn't want to go on without him. She had to, though, for another three years. Then she fell asleep. No guns in this country. Sad, and scary. Well done. :)Sandra xx

This is a delightful read. It's both a solid poem with sound rhyming and meter but also an enchanting (and somewhat sad?) tale of an old man not wanting to burden anybody at his end of days. Well done.

The Rock of Gibraltar for many men, historically referenced, would be the loss of a wife or a child. Well told. .............................................................................
