This is a very moving story, but so filled with hope and determination that it leaves the reader truly rooting for you both.
I loved the line 'Birds trilled arpeggios singing songs about how nature came to be.'
And also your end paragraph' Our shared friendship, and love of nature, keep us going back to where the trees, birds, and other creatures reach out to us and offer peace and tranquility.'
Beautiful.

I am so glad you liked this one too. My love of nature shines through this one as well as the two of us, David and me, and our disabilities that we share. We together are a team!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Hi Jesse,
This is a well written story about friendship and caring. It shows you both have empathy and sympathy with each other. It also shows how nature calms people and gets them to remember their blessings and their goals.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Hello Joan.
Nature is a balm for all who gather in and around her. I thank you for your kind words and for seeing all the gifts David and I give each other through empathy and sympathy for each other.
I will keep writing and stay as healthy as I am able!
Have a happy Halloween!

What a beautiful story of love, friendship, nature, and overcoming difficulties. You always see the good side in all you describe, i.e., you don't focus on the difficulty of getting the wheelchair over the grass but, rather, how well David executes the move.
I love both your descriptions of nature ("Birds trilled arpeggios singing songs about how nature came to be.") and your respect for it, speaking softly to not disturb the peace.
It's been a rough week (hence my not having reviewed this sooner), and your story gave me a well-needed smile. Thank you!

Thanks, Jesse. Things have calmed down so, hopefully, the rest of the weekend will be better than the week was.
I'm always glad to hear things are going well for you, and I'm just biding time 'til I read the post that says, "Wheelchair for sale!"
Have a great weekend!

Hi Michele! I am not ready yet to sell my wheelchair, but I love the intent!
Hope the rest of the weekend is smooth sailing!

Jesse, this was a very heartfelt piece of writing and and I was there with you both. I could feel your profound friendship and I loved your shared optimism. Will over mind is a very strong force.
I have been to see the Sequoia trees, and it left such a deep impression with me. I wrote a piece about it a long time ago. They are true amazing and it makes you feel humble
Thanks a lot for sharing some of yourself. Ulla:)))

This is a great story of friendship and caring. It highlights the fact that while disabilities may exist, helping each other can get us through many things and can allow us to enjoy such moments.

Nice imagery in this one. A humble appreciation for a friendship that begins with shared disabilities but transcends these limitations and expresses joy in the simple experiences of life.

I enjoyed reading about the pilgrimage that you and David took to Freshwater Park. What a nice way to spend the day and share the strengths that each of you possess.
Well done
