Hi Terry, Damn. I missed some great parties. I wish I had neighbors like you and Zoe. It might be an understatement to say that Zoe was the life of the party. My condolences on the upcoming anniversary of Zoe's passing which is also followed by All Souls Day on November 2nd. Terry, I loved this story. I could feel Zoe's love for life and your love for her. You have wonderful memories, and no one can take that from you. Well done. This story made me smile. Keep the blue waters flowing. Margaret ~ LB

I enjoyed reading about Zoe's parties. My sister is a Spanish teacher, and she makes a Day of the Dead altar every year. I think it is great that you make a DOD altar with some of Zoe's favorite things. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

What a an interesting personal, family and neighborhood event. It is a celebration of life through death. It can be a celebration of many of us through the different mementos we put on altars A descriptive account with meaningful family impact.

I have never heard of these kind of parties before and you sound like you were a tolerant and understanding husband and I am sorry for your loss, a fine story of remembrance here Terry, love Dolly x

Your story was a great tribute to your wife. Her celebrations of the Day of the Dead do sound like fun. You have also provided us with the interesting facts regarding that custom. I was so sad to read the ending of your memoir. I am sure she is celebrating in heaven. Her picture is lovely. Evi

What a lovely memorial to your Zoe. She apparently had a great zest for life and a loving and patient husband. It does seem fitting that she left in time t make the guest list at the afterlife party.

My condolence on your wife's passing. The celebration of DOD reminds me of ALL SOULS DAY within the Catholic's tradition. That day is for those who passed before us. However, it is nowhere near the festivities that you have written on DOD.

All your Zoe stories make me smile. She loved to live life to the fullest and make others enjoy it with her. Is that her picture? She really looks full of joy.

I understand why you miss Zoe so much, Terry. You've painted her as a woman who loved fun and adventure, and was creative. I would love to have been invited to that party. It does seem fitting that she died on a November 1st. Thanks for sharing this beautiful story.

I just loved this story and would have attended Zoe's DOD parties. I think it is a wonderful tradition that the Mexicans have and it is a great way to honor those who have passed on, I also like that your cats were honored as well.
