What an amazing experience! Not many people get to enjoy an evening like that and you had a front row seat. I liked the theme of the event and I'm glad it was successful. The memories you have is the best part.

I was in the heart business, too for many years. I went to an American Heart Association meeting in Louisville, Kentucky in the late 80's. I lived in Houston, Texas from 1985 to 1989 and worked on artificial heart with a heart surgeon. I also met Dr. Denton Cooley in a party in Houston.
I have heard of Lena Horne.

She was a beautiful woman. I remember Greg Morris well. Mission Impossible was one of my favorite shows at the time. They had an all star cast. Thanks for sharing this memorable evening with us.

Oh, what a beautiful woman Lena Horne was. And Hank Aaron always seemed the same humble and kind man of his youth, even as a car dealer in Atlanta. Sounds like an outstanding and enjoyable event for the executive director and all who attended. Thanks for sharing.

This is very well written and I enjoyed it from word one. The picture certainly added a great deal of validity to scene-- a well set scene. I truly enjoyed it and can't exactly why it wasn't a 6 in my reading -more of a 5 and a-half! lol You write so very well and have so many great posts that you, yourself, have set the bar high for sixes.
