I enjoyed reading your squirrel poem. I am a fan of these creatures, I know they are pests at times. You have a light feel and flow to your words that takes the reader out into nature.

Thank you, mermaids. I am delighted my poem can put you there among the squirrels foraging amidst the treetops.

A lovely story within this poem! It was written so well and flowed so smoothly that I was almost present at the scene. The image is beautiful and the presentation excellent. Best wishes for your entry.

Squirrels can be real pests. Your words give them legitimacy though. It is fun to watch them prance around in the treetops, just not in my bird feeder.
Very nice.

I, too, love to watch squirrels when they?re not being pesky. Thank you, Gary, for sharing my poem.
Comment from June Sargent
I can imagine a driveway full of fallen leaves, twigs and acorns can be annoying. And it doesn't take more than one squirrel to accomplish this! Your free verse flows naturally and paints a full picture with ease. And I love the artwork. Well done for the contest!

Yes, I see your squirrel! Your poem describes him so well The verbs show good action. I just hope he stays in the tree and away from my bird feeder, where he is not welcome! Good luck in the contest.

Hi, Verna. Many thanks for reviewing my poem. I am always amazed how much these fellas consume. They will pillage my oak tree and storm my feeder.
Comment from Carolyn Dooley
I love the picture, it is so lovely. And the story you tell in a poem is great. I do relate to this story. Those squirrels know how to make a mess in our driveways. And if you are not careful, an acorn can get hit you. Thank you for sharing your story. Have a great weekend.

The author's words are interesting, nature based, descriptive, clear and
creative. Thank you for the author's notes - an education on the squirrel and acorns! The poem flows and connects well. It was suspenseful to read. The artwork compliments the theme and words of this poem.

I love watching the squirrels in our garden. There's one very bold one who waits when we go outside until we're within a couple of feet before barrelling away up the side of the house, chattering at as as though to say 'get out of my garden, humans!'
I very much enjoyed your poem :-)

Squirrels can be a lot of fun to watch, but they are often a nuisance around my feeder. Many thanks for sharing my poem.
