Very cheerful, and hopeful verse on the wonders of summer. I wait patiently for summer only to pray for winter once the real summer heat sets in.

This acrostic poem, Summer Time, follows the vertical, first-letter theme with an ABAB rhyme scheme and holds out the new season of summer fun as a great choice for the next experience.

I just wish we could have the brightness of summer without the stifling heat! Also, you've made me want ice cream ... Okay, so I always want ice cream :-). Your acrostic was excellent - I very much enjoyed the read.

It's hard to write an acrostic that rhymes but you managed to write one:) "The cheers at the cricket ground
Ideal time for ice cream ways
Many happy days of sun
Embrace the summer, make it fun, May I suggest a different ending that could rhyme with ways?
How about Embrace the summer the summer gaze or
Embrace the summer blaze:) Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

It may be days of hot and dry. However, when those summer days are gone, we miss them. The seasons come and go. Each one has different temperatures. So enjoy these days of warmth. They will be gone soon enough. Thank you for sharing.

I can take summer temps until they get in the 100s. They have already reached that in Tennessee (USA). What a wonderfully written poem.
