This is a three-stanza poem utilizing rhyme (end rhymes and also an internal rhyme with day/say) with a happy, welcoming tone. It sounds like your daughter-in-law is a great person who even can influence Spring itself. Fun read.

Hi Debi,
when two beautiful faces appear on my screen... and without a word being read allows a sense of magic within what I see, is a very special relationship.

Now, I read about your love of Mel before... and it's apparent with, yes, not only the photo of the two of you, but the beautiful words and poem you have created for your sweet 'daughter'.

My sister's birthday is on the same day.... but there are no smiles as I see here, only sadness of what could have been. But, I'm not bringing this magic poem or occasion down... this kind of beauty deserves nothing but the respect and accreditation it so deserves.

Happy belated birthday dear sweet May Day Mel! Your son is a very fortunate man!

Awe, thank you so very much, my sweet James. You are just the most awesome guy ever. And I appreciate all your kind words. I do love my daughter in-love, and I consider her like my own. In fact one day when I went to their house, next door, I gave her a hug and said, "how's my favorite daughter?" And my son looked up from his newspaper and said, "Mom, you have two real daughters." So I said, "I tell them all they are my favorite. And besides I tell you that you are my favorite son", and he said, "I am your only son." Hahaha.

Sorry about your sister, as I am assuming that she is no longer alive?

Thanks again, my very dear friend for the lovely review and comments and for the appreciated six star to go with it.

This poem was written two years ago so it didn't win the contest. Of course what I have learned in the last two years, I edited and it may have had a good chance now for that reason. It was just fun to bring it back and send to her. I am sure she shared with all her co-workers. Today is my son's birthday.
