The people who most need to confess are those who see no wrong in what they do and therefor don't confess. This is a really complicated form of poetry which you have executed so well.

This is definitely on fire!!! In a good way, of course.
For, you display this powerful, and emotional piece,
that let's you wear your heart on your sleeve, while
simultaneously, and cleverly moving through this
Shakesperean Soliloquy, to atone one's sins. And
you can believe i was touched. Nice Job. Keep Writing.
And don't forget to stop by to talk to me. Stay Connected

I enjoyed your poem, even more after I read about the poetry format you used which is very strict.
I challenge you to take the same poem and use free verse with a bit of editing and she if it fits that style as well. I always read poetry out loud to judge cadence and flow. For me that's much more important than formats and rhyme. Unless it's for a contest that requires the strictness of style. You are a good writer. Keep it up.

Wow this was beautiful! The author's words were engaging, heartfelt,
meaningful and creative. I pondered, as I read these words how much
we need to have God in our lives. I liked how the author led up to the last
line of this poem. The artwork is lovely and compliments this poem.

This is an extremelywell done sestina about the sacrament of Reconciliation. It shows how it clears your heart and soul of grief and guilt.
This shows a religious experience that gave you light and understanding.
Keep writnig and stay healthy
Just a question. I am a sponsor to a woman whos is going through RCIA to get comfirmed and in a class of others receiving the sacrament for the first time next month, can I make a copy of this poem and give it to them? Of course noting it is your poem.

Beautifully written, I love the depiction of Our Lady as both Mother and Mediatrix of Grace. You captured so acutely how reconciliation feels, down to the transition from grief at the thought of the cross to the embrace of it.

This is a very interesting, but complicated style of poetry, JLR. You've used it well to write this story of asking for redemption and how to achieve it, through confession. Thanks for sharing.

If you confess, God is merciful. The problem with humans is that we do not want to confess and bow down to God. But once we come to Him, we know that God is forgiveness. Thanks for sharing and wishing you the very best in the contest, Kit

An epic faithful write here about the power of forgiveness and letting go of anxiety that tends to weigh us down in life. There is much sadness in these words and we all at some time have to navigate grief in life, a poignant write, love Dolly x

thanks much, I found this old-world poetic format on Shadow Poetry, quite a unique format, perhaps it would not be found favored by today's writers.
