This was just lovely, and made me want to put on my winter boots and walk in the woods today! Thank you for posting. I find Acrostics very difficult to do without sounding forced, but you've managed these words well, and somehow sound natural even with your rhyme scheme. Good luck in the contest!

I commend you. I don't think this type of poem is easy to write and takes time to plan to make it come out right. Also enjoyed the subject of the poem since I love hiking and bird song.
