This one reminded me of my husband's squash days K, and I see you were a grade A player, well done. You've really caught the sound of the squash balls when they are whacked hard. Great choice for this ball topic, enjoyed it.
cheers,
valda

Excellent free verse form from the viewpoint of the squash ball. "You can't beat me up" is a great line that shows how much strength the ball has. This is a unique and creative poem.

Hello Kace, I love your personification of the ball in this well written poem. Reading your author note was interesting. What you say in it is obviously what inspired your poem. I always find your work realistic and well written. Well done and warm regards, love Dorothy xx

G'day Dorothy, Firstly, was it you that told me about fluid on your lung? I'm trying to track the fanstorian. Thank you for reading, a bit of fun. You haven't been writing for a while? Queen's birthday today - another excuse for a long weekend. I have been sick. Love, Kay. xx

I was delighted to read your FreeVerse rendition of this challenge, Kace. You did a super job on this and I am inspired to use some of your techniques to create one too. Well done!!

Haha, what a fun response to the prompt, Aussie. I enjoyed reading it. The image is perfect. I love the personification. I like the unusual twist of the squash ball taking on humans after all of the battering it has taken from them. [No apostrophe in the word its in description box.]
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you my friend. It takes ages to warm up a squash ball until it becomes hard enough to belt it against a wall! Love, Kay xx

I liked this poem ,from the point of view of the squash ball .They keep hitting and it goes to and fro finally earning a victory for one of the humans..

:-) We do tend to change a bit over the years. You had to have really been fit, Kay, to play A grade squash. While I only dabbled at tennis for awhile, I did ride horses a lot (but not professionally...just my own). This is a very energetic writing. I feel all revved up...but I am sure that feeling will pass. lol

Yep, very fit; horse-riding, tennis, squash and five years of martial arts! Thanks for reading my friend. K xx

Lol. I looked at that prompt, and wondered whatever I could write! Well, now I know. You have clarified what it means to be a squash ball - I feel its pain! Well done!

This was a fun read about the actions and reactions of a squash ball. It reminded me of a college gym class in which I attempted to play the sport. I did have fun and I guess I wasn't horrible at it.
