This is so very moving, KT, that once again, you've got me weeping, and weep we should.
It's an abomination that we treated anyone this way, much less American citizens. How this country remained so blessed for so long, considering our crimes against humanity over the ages, is beyond me. I believe we are soon going to be charged fully for the horrible things we have done to others, and that we will be made to pay the full price for our sins.
You are an exceptional writer. When I see your name on the front page, I must confess, my heart quickens a beat in anticipation of the beauty I know you have in store for my eyes, my heart and my longing soul.
May God bless you always,
Sweet Pea

The writing and format are profound in their message of two honorable gentlemen who each gave everything to their country. Required words do not in any way seemed forced. A grand slam. LadyMary

WOW. This is powerful and moving and very informative. It must have taken quite an effort to compile this. I like the dialogue approach, where we can see the similarities and the differences. This is a potent poem. Bravo. Nothing to fix.
Horrors unimaginable and yet you depict it well.
Warm Regards,
rama devi
P.S. Interesting comments too

Thank you for sharing your work and talent with the rest of us. The story you have shared here does give from two perspectives, one of desire and the other of actual happenings. Both seem to tie together, one giving factual events of war which are then compared to the events that have taken place because of war.
The oppression of a people branded because of the event taking place, war in Japan, comes through this clearly as does the demeaning and biased views held at the time by a people who really had no concept or understanding for those who had chosen to step away and apart from their natural heritage. They were still branded. Sadly in this, it shows the affects such views had and the results that come forth from the actions taken.
What I did enjoy most though was the way the two link in together. Thanks again for sharing and many blessings to you

One war with many side. I have always looked at this imprisonment as somthing that could happen again. Why was it not stopped? Beccause we let the government take our rights away. If they can do it to the japanese, the middle eastern people and others they can do it to us. They will do it to us. They have already started.
Sorry rambling. I did loce the poem. Good luck in the contest.

Worthy of my last six. A beautiful write that touched my heart and made me pause to think, Wish I could give something higher than just a six to you. Well written. Best wishes in the contest.

If I hadn't already used both of my 6th stars, I would have given one to your poem. I have written a conversation poem but in a totally different format, and although I think it was pretty good for the type, it had none of the depths that your work exhibits - but then again, it wasn't ment too. The story is both sad and inspiring from both points of view. Good work.

This is a stunning poem, and I am so sorry I don't have a 6 rating to award it. I was not really familiar with dialogue poems before this, and now I am the world's hugest fan. The way you find those times their experiences call for an identical response and the times their experiences call for divergent responses - this is really just brilliant. I stand in awe.

A great reader of poetry, but this was very moving. I may have to start reading more of it. Excellent writing.
I live in California, not too far from Manzanar.
You should try to have this one published.

Hello Friend! My sincere appreciation for your kind words and thoughtful review. This is a format that is not very well known...but it was so rewarding to pen it. Thank you again! diane
