Thanks, Jay, and I am 55. I was born June 21, 1960, and I was never -- and I mean never! -- into the disco scene. I was a Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd kinda' guy, and in fact, I still am, LOL.

I had to get my mind wrapped around this and read it a second...or was it first time? Anyway, I had to get into my stash to understand it and it was magnificient.
Wow did you ever get it all together. I thought of this years ago when I was younger then I realized,,,this is today. it has not changed...just new names for killer drugs.

Worth a six on the research alone, but I really enjoyed reading this excellent poem on the drug culture and the abusive nature of the music 'industry'. So many wasted lives and abused talents. Ironically I read and refrained from commenting on a friend's posting elsewhere of something by John Lennon which I rather think the friend failed to realise is another example of drug fuelled confusion.
I find it sad that our society has produced a culture in which so many intelligent and talented people destroy themselves in this way. I lost interest in the Beatles when they went 'psychadelic' and then lost interest in the rest of the 'Pop' industry very quickly afterward. That said, RIP Amy Winehouse, Bob Geldof's daughter and all the rest of the casualties ...

Yep, following some of those artists would have put you down the rabbit hole PDQ.
If memory serves, Jimi Hendrix and Janice Joplin were always on psychedelic overdrive, as were A LOT of other entertainer.
Although, no matter what brought S & G's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' to fruition, was a GREAT thing. Love, love that song.
Now, me, I'm just a country girl. Charlie Pride, Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood, and George Strait. Yeehaw!
