'Clocks stand motionless.' I thought at first that this was a a sci-fi poem.
The last line revealed all. A wife lost after sixty years, 'heartrending.' I'm at the forty five years stage.
A nice original poem. :) mel.

Hi Gary, every one of these lines is a pure gem my friend, I read it as the death of o loved one not as a separation issue, after all, they would both be in their eighties surely! Great poem my friend and more than worthy of my last six!

Clock stand motionless, but life moves on. Hearttouching. I specially liked the phrase: events JUST lost. With time we loose so many Things and gain few other.

How sad but how so true after a life time together. You can feel the grief as one struggles with the what if's and the what if's to come. The loneliness that has already engulfed his soul, his heart.

Pathetic. Sixty years of one's life has just lost his wife.
There is nostalgia here, Why continue to live when one is lonely...? Here I see frustration that the writer expresses
in simple language. I feel the pang. Sincere congratulations. Dom

'Clocks Stand Motionless' is an extremely well-written and heart-wrenching piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.

This is a tough one for me to comment on, it sounds like a justification for something that I don't even want to mention, but the loss of anyone, though great as it is, is no reason to become despondent to the point of despair or tottering on the edge of its rim??????
Too many today see this as a way out though I don't think there is anymore of anything than there always has been, just more beings to ponder or take control of it. That doesn't make it right. In fact the majority is more often wrong than right; a proven fact throughout history. Nothing new under the sun.
We might like time to correspond to what we think but it is beyond our scope to even grasp a mention of it let alone control it. Unless I don't understand and I am completely off base.
Or: this is written this way that the mind might start to probe but without a specific goal of direct meaning or understanding it will lose itself & never will it be for the right reason or meaning.
Enough said: I don't see any spelling or grammatical errors; and the rhymes of the first two lines & the last two lines makes the middle apparent.
I was only going to give it a 4 but I revise to a 5 for it must be provoking & meaning something internally of what I yet need to get in touch.

60 years, do not complain. I lost mine after 36 and she is still alive. It would be 56 now if I had be 56 now if I were as lucky as you and managed to save my marriage.
