Wishing you a great big Texan birthday! Put on your ten gallon hat, pick up and pet a cat, eat some ribs and then some cake, see how much trouble you can make! Have a great day.

Awe, Marilyn, you are so quirkily cute and funny! Haha and I love it.
I thank you for such kind comments for Terry and his poem. He really is a good guy and everyone sure does love him. Thanks again, my very dear friend for your thoughtful words. Love, Debi

What a fun piece of writing. A bit of confusion as the reference to great grandma made me think it was about a woman at first. I like the sense of rhythm and beat that permeates the verses along with the sense of a humorous tribute that rounds things off bringing us from 1836 to the present day with an unspoken but very present yeehah.

Hi zanni, and thank you for the kind review and comments.
I am thinking that maybe you didn't see the separation marks or distinction where I wrote on top of the poem a little about Terry's heritage and the few dots and then when the heritage part about his great grandma was done, there were four more of those snow flake dots that separated that part from the poem. If you look again you will see what I mean. I hope that clears up the confusion as I do know that at times I will miss those kinds of things too. LOL.
Thanks again for the awesome review and kind words. Love, Debi

I loved the history and humor expressed here in this delightful poetic tribute to a fellow poet here, Terry Broxson fromTexas. Beautifully written AABB rhymed quatrains on iambic tetrameter that colorfully told the story, then threw on the accolades. Then you closed with a country western Texas concert. Bravo. What a wonderful Birthday card poem.

Okay. That may be the absolute best Birthday Greeting Poem ending that you have ever done.
You really nailed Terry down to a T. He is so kind and his non-fiction always seems to have a hit of delightful embellishment. He is a joy and one of my favorites!
Happy Birthday, Terry! Thanks for doing this up right, Debi!

Well Douglas, if you would tell me your birthday, I can even top that for you. You know a true friend when you can almost insult them with a complement.
And I just heard you say, HUH? LOL.
You are so much fun, Douglas. Thanks for saying the nicest things.
It always means the world to me.
