Hi there,
I rather enjoyed this piece. It's enchanting and very like a lot of the stories I read to me daughter. It develops nicely in a playful way. yeah, very nice. I hope it does well.
Jerrod appeared to duck his head / "Jarrod?" Might as well go - change in name spelling.
And di-," Faye began, - need opening speech marks here and I don't think you need the comma after the dash.
on the bottom bunk so Jerrod could climb in.
"Don't you worry yourselves." She kissed Jerrod'- spelling of name changes again here.
All the best

LOL! Soooo, apparently name changes are what you get when you write part of it at work (between classes) and finish it when you get home! ;) Thanx so much for the catches, G, always so appreciated!! ;) :) Take care over there and have a wonderful year ahead! ;) Yvette

Faye was certainly very professional in her protracted interrogation. I was fascinated by her name having been derived from Fairy and of course by Dru! Cheers and best wishes in the contest- Joan

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, Joan -- this is me getting my pen out of mothballs and letting my imagination start up after the holidays! ;) Take care out there and have a wonderful year ahead! ;) Yvette

Hi Lady Y! I babysat for decades! I met one of my first really serious boyfriends babysitting. (I was always a little happy that Tracey Huckins had a Christmas party to go to that night.) Babysitting was my jam... I did it from the time I didn't want to go to Sunday school and I stayed in the nursery and helped with the babies instead. I was probably about 6. LOL

Interesting mixture of babysitting lore and fairy story with a huge troll that's allergic to cats but quite sensitive and caring!
Would "We heard a noise." be okay? The contest said, "We heard something." Just FYI as I don't want your post to be disqualified!
Best wishes in the contest!
