Goodness me! Doesn't the memories just come flooding back. My mum use to talk about this film. I did see a repeat of it many years later. I was interested in where the quotation came from and according to Wikipedia it is a misquotation of the 1942 film but may refer to the film of the same name made in 1972 with Woody Alan. Well we live and learn!!I really enjoyed the Haiku, very well constructed, really crafty usage of a well-known quotation. Well penned!

It's on the list of famous quotes never said, along with PT Barnam's "There's a sucker born every minute." The actual line was "Play it, Sam, play it." Thanks for reviewing.

Nice. It's hard to condense ideas in such a short form, and I think you do it pretty well. Perhaps you weren't aware of this, but a haiku is supposed to have a verbal "cutting" word, a place where there is a sharp juxtaposition or shift. I don't see one in here. There's also supposed to be some sort of seasonal reference, but that is less stringent.

THis is a very clever entry for this contest (that actually is not a haiku contest, but a five seven five contest in my opinion). But the author does a very nice job on Bogart, and his films that are so loved. One suggestion, look at the spacing in your poem the lines should be so separated. Single spaced would look so much better.
