Enjoyed the bits of humor in the
story too.

"One of my Dad's tall tales
Jerry Jing-Jang Comes to Town"
Aww, ain't Daddy's old stories just great? :) This Jerry fella sounds Chinese, though.
Good rhymes and reading flow.
"Tho brave Jerry Jing-Jang never runs
He'd need his brains before his guns."
Haha! I like that. :)
"Outlaws who have been drinking beer
Don't always manage too think very clear.
Brash and bold, they learned too late,
Their hog-tied buddy, of course, was bait."
Hahaha! :)
Ha! Scaredy-cat sheriff. LOL!

His real name is Gerry, short for Gerald. I changed the first letter to make it easier for kids to sound it out. The Jing-Jang part he just made up. I'm glad you got a kick out of it. Thanks for this great review.

What a wonderful little poem. I quite enjoyed this tale spun in the singsong manner. What a clever cowboy you've conjured up here. Wonder if there is truth to the tales your father used to tell you. Well done.

I don't think there's much truth to them. He enjoyed telling tall tales when I was young enough to believe him. Still, it's fun to write them and he gets a kick out of them. Thanks for this great review.

Your saga of the Wild West hero is delightful and well-written. Your narrative has a well-develooped plot that explains the hero's strategy and the results. Good

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I find 5-7-5 hard to review. The review has to be longer than the poem. Thanks for the review.

This poem has a children's and a Western lilt at the same time. It's very musical, the "jing-jang" is kind of a stirrup sound (like when the spurs jingle in a cowboy movie). I enjoyed it very much.

Hi Cindy,
This is a wonderful story poem for the contest. I was totally engaged in it from the first line to the last. I wish I had a six for you as this piece deserves at least that. I love the story of Jerry Jing-jang and I think it is true! You did a good job of telling this tale. Your rhyming is exceptional and the flow is smooth. Well done and good luck in the contest.....blessinsgs, chey

I love western stories, especially about cowboy heroes, so I liked this poem. The rhyming was great, and there was a happy ending with the cowboy saving the day. You used your imagination to write an enjoyable read.
