Oh dear..these kind of stories tip me over the edge and flowing river of tears and the dam is broken. I never had a horse, they're too big for me but I've had two puppies that got so sick I had to have them put to sleep and if was one of the most traumatizing things I've ever done. Good but sad piece. God bless.

This is a sad but wonderful story about a wonderful and noble animal. My heart went out to George who was in pain. I also cried for him and being a former horse owner, I know the love between horse and person. This is story that makes you feel everything, well done.

Bev,
Your essay is beautifully written with amazing imagery. The art work you used is funky cool. In you essay you've used a very good narrative voice, great word structure and you effectively used the writing devices of alliteration and metaphor. You managed to establish an entertaining non-fiction piece of writing. I like your phrases: "She'd arranged a glorious garden party to celebrate George's life before euthanizing, The sky was robin egg blue, spoke of how George had been the only unconditionally loving male she'd ever known and made his way directly to the grave of his buddy." Your essay is moving and I'm bawling like a fool. What a poignant true story. . I'd recommend your non-fiction story to other reviewers. I'd urge you to keep on writing with a creative pen. Please have a blessed day, my friend...Melissa.

Hi Bev
you've become quite the accomplished story teller
and this piece is stellar. I loved how well you developed
the story. I found myself actually being there at the wake
and could visualize the scenes, particularly the poignant ending
scene with Patches returning to the grave of George.
I do have one minor SPAG suggestion for you to consider:
He walked slowly d[b]eside her through
Wish I had a six to offer you for this exceptional piece.
Well done, my friend.

Oopsy, was a little quick on the draw there LOL! Hey, thanks so much Ray for this awesome review. George's story has been in my head for a while now. I found when I finally sat down and wrote it, the piece flowed. So, George gets all the credit. Thanks for your kind acknowledgement that I am finally starting to find a good niche for myself. That's probably the reason I stunk so bad at the Japanese forms (hehehe). Your words and virtual six are treasured, my friend. Blessings, Bev

I love horses . This is one of the most beautiful horse stories I have ever read and I have read many! The descriptions are amazingly life- like, vivid and colorful.
The story is told simply and yet is extreemly touching
I almost wept visualizing Patches "Standing guard at a fallen comrade's tomb."
Great job!
Blessings.

what a heart-felt
story... I could
relate to this as
my daughter-in-law
lost her horse and
close family went
to be with her when
it was laid to rest
in the field which
had been its home
for 12 yrs.
So sad.

This is a brilliantly written and very poignant piece. Your description of the day and of George took me there with you. This is a very touching story to me. It seems like this was real to you and if it was I'm sorry your horse died. A beautiful tribute that they had for the horse.
